The app is just like the Pocket Edition and will be updated together – however, we aren’t quite sure if it’s a universal app, but we’ll let you know once the company state something about this. That means that MCPE is going to get a lot of features, and that Win10 and MCPE players will be able to play together 🙂Īs it you can see from the tweets, the Windows 10 Edition is a completely different than Minecraft for PC.
I’m going to say this because the drama is already too much: Windows 10 Edition *is* MCPE, and will always be updated together with it! Thankfully, one of the Mojang developers has cleared up the confusion on Twitter: There’s been some confusion about the Windows 10 Edition of Minecraft – some users are wondering if Mojang is stopping the development for Minecraft for PC or if it’s just a different app. The game will be available from the Windows 10 Store for $10 to new users and if you’ve already purchased Minecraft for PC, you’ll be able to get it for free from the Windows 10 Store on July 29th. Yesterday at Minecon 2015, Microsoft (the parent company of Mojang) introduced Minecraft’s Windows 10 Edition.
